Welcome to
I’m Brenda, a mindfulness coach, survivor, and your partner in building resilience. Inside Mindfully Malignant, you’ll find guided meditations, grounding practices, breathwork, and coaching that help reduce stress, calm anxiety, and support healing through real life. Healing is not perfect. It is choosing to pause, breathe, and begin again.
The Story
How Mindfully Malignant
Came Into Being
Hey, I’m Brenda Jean, and my story began with HER-2 Triple Positive Breast Cancer. And life suddenly became a chaos of chemo damage, chronic pain from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), and endless hospital stays.
I survived ten surgeries, heart failure, and setbacks in life that I once thought were impossible. But through the mud came growth. I turned to both Western medicine and Eastern medicine, chemo saved my life, while meditation, breathwork, and holistic approaches carried me through the darkest nights.
All this while, I was resilient to make every moment of my journey count. I started an online journal that later became Mindfully Malignant, a place to share what I’ve learned. This space is not therapy. It’s physical therapy for your brain and a way to train your mind, reclaim strength, and find peace.
Some call my survival a cancer miracle. I call it mindset, resilience, and compassion in action.

What is Mindfulness Coaching?
Mindfulness coaching is a guided journey into living fully in the moment. It isn’t about forcing perfection or trying to clear your mind of every thought; it’s about learning how to:
› Pause and notice your inner experience, your thoughts, feelings, and breath
› Respond to life with awareness instead of reaction
› Use simple, accessible tools to create clarity, balance, and calm in daily life
Whether you’re brand new to mindfulness or hoping to deepen your practice, my coaching gives you personalized support, accountability, and practical exercises you can weave into your everyday life.
Ready to Begin your Journey?
You may be here to ease stress, improve sleep, sharpen focus, or deepen self-awareness. Whatever your reason, I’ll walk alongside you on this journey. We’ll begin with a free consultation to explore your needs and goals, then set intentions and create a plan that fits your life.
From there, we’ll meet regularly, weekly or biweekly, using simple practices and reflections you can integrate between sessions. Along the way, we’ll check in, adjust as needed, and you’ll receive ongoing support through resources, guided practices, and community connection to help you continue moving forward.

As a caregiver, I often put my own needs last. Mindfully Malignant gave me space to breathe, reset, and care for myself without guilt. The practices are gentle, realistic, and deeply supportive — exactly what I needed during an overwhelming time. I feel more present, calmer, and better able to show up for the person I care for.
